MANOELA E O BOTO: IDENTIDADE E ALTERIDADE ACREANA NO ESPETÁCULO TEATRAL DO GRUPO EXPERIMENTAL DE TEATRO VIVARTE

Resumo

O artigo discute as questões de identidade e alteridade acreana no espetáculo teatral Manoela e o Boto (2004) do Grupo Experimental de Teatro Vivarte. O coletivo teatral é conhecido por suas produções que abordam temáticas amazônicas e utilizam elementos da cultura popular, refletindo sobre a construção da identidade acreana (Melo, 2016). O estudo adota uma abordagem de estudo de caso (Yin, 2001) e análise do espetáculo (Pavis, 2008) e tem como fonte de dados a dramaturgia e a filmografia do espetáculo. Como resultado, concluímos que a peça representa a Amazônia acreana através da personagem Manoela e aborda a relação entre identidade, influenciadas por seu senso pertencimento, e a alteridade, moldada pelas expectativas dos outros. As conclusões indicam que a obra produz uma reflexão profunda sobre a identidade regional, as transformações pessoais e coletivas, e os desafios de lidar com a alteridade.

MANOELA E O BOTO: ACREAN IDENTITY AND ALTERITY IN THE THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE OF THE GRUPO EXPERIMENTAL DE TEATRO VIVARTE

Abstract

The article discusses the issues of Acrean identity and alterity in the theatrical performance Manoela e o Boto (2004) by the Grupo Experimental de Teatro Vivarte. The theatrical collective is known for its productions that address Amazonian themes and use elements of popular culture, reflecting on the construction of Acrean identity (Melo, 2016). The study adopts a case study approach (Yin, 2001) and performance analysis (Pavis, 2008) and uses the dramaturgy and filmography of the performance as data sources. As a result, it was shown that the performance represents the Acrean Amazon through the character Manoela and addresses the relationship between identity, influenced by her sense of belonging, and alterity, shaped by the expectations of others. The conclusions indicate that the work is a profound reflection on regional identity, personal and collective transformations, and the challenges of dealing with alterity.
