FÚLVIO GIULIANO: ARTE, RIBEIRINIDADE E PROCESSOS EDUCATIVOS NO AMAPÁ (1962 -1983)

Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir o trabalho educativo e pedagógico de padre Fúlvio Francesco Giuliano (missionário do Pontifício Instituto das Missões ao Exterior - PIME). A trajetória artística, educativa e religiosa de pe. Fúlvio, na Amazônia amapaense, encontra-se assentada no recorte histórico entre os anos de 1962-1983. Neste período, suas pinturas retratavam temas sociais (mazelas humanas, moradia, migração e carências material da população); educativos (ensino catequético e laico) e sacros. Por todo modo, as ações no campo das artes e da missão religiosa no Amapá foram nutridas por grandes acontecimentos ocorridos no contexto histórico de turbulências sociais e políticas, vivenciadas do período do Território Federal do Amapá (TFA). Logo, os diálogos produzidos com moradores amazônicos favoreceram a aplicação do uso da imagem como mecanismo educativo para a fé e para a vida. Durante o percurso investigativo, Fúlvio empregou sistematicamente uma pedagogia visual como instrumento que desse conta de aproximar a Igreja a seus fiéis. Neste diálogo, o artista estabeleceu conexões comunicativas com grupos letrados e não letrados. Abordar isso favorece conhecer melhor práticas voltadas à educação e processos criativos a partir desse artista, no âmbito da história da educação na Amazônia.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the educational and pedagogical work of priest Fúlvio Francesco Giuliano (missionary of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions - PIME). The artistic, educational, and religious trajectory of fr. Fúlvio, in the Amapaense Amazon, is in the historical cut between the years 1962-1983. In this period, his paintings portrayed social themes (human ills, housing, migration, and material shortages of the population); educational (catechetical and lay teaching) and sacred. In any case, actions in the field of arts and religious mission in Amapá were nourished by major events that took place in the historical context of social and political turmoil, experienced in the period of the Federal Territory of Amapá (TFA). Therefore, the dialogues produced with Amazonian residents favored the application of the use of the image as an educational mechanism for faith and for life. During the investigative journey, Fúlvio systematically used a visual pedagogy as a tool to bring the Church closer to its faithful. In this dialogue, the artist established communicative connections with literate and non-literate groups. Addressing these favors knowing better practices aimed at education and creative processes from this artist, within the scope of the history of education in the Amazon.
